Tired of getting the legal name amended?
Let Pacific help you get it right the first time…
Here are a few tips to help us process your contracts faster and eliminate re-work:
-
The correct legal entity and trading name (if applicable) is required in the borrower section of the application.
-
If there is more than one insured party or subsidiary company listed on the policy, they need to be named on the application. If there is not enough space on the application, contact Pacific for a loan addendum.
-
If a trust is involved, the legal entity is the company or individual that acts on behalf of the trust.
-
ABN/ACN listed on the application should be registered to either the legal entity or the trading name – To check that you have the correct ABN/ACN, refer to
http://www.abr.business.gov.au/
An easy way to avoid missing settlement dates…
Here are a few tips to help us process your contracts faster and eliminate re-work:
How often do you miss your quoted settlement dates? In the month of October 20% of missed settlements were due to a dishonour on the client’s first instalment.
Two simple ways to limit dishonours are:
- Communicate to the client when their instalments are due and the amount to be deducted
- Urge them to return their loan application before multiple instalments are due.
If you have any feedback or ideas on how we could better communicate our drawing procedures or decrease dishonours, please submit them on the Soapbox.
Wondering when something will settle….?
To check the settlement date of an application, and/or the payee if we are paying a third party, simply log on Pacific Edge and select ‘Daily Activity’, then go to 'Settlements O/S'.

PACIFIC AT NIBA IN DARWIN
In September, delegates headed to the ‘Top End’ (Darwin) for the 26th NIBA Convention, themed "Brokers on Top".
Pacific supported NIBA again this year as a Gold Sponsor, providing the Pacific Super Shuttle Buses for delegates to get to and from the convention sessions and events. The buses were a welcome sight given the heat Darwin is famous for.

Thank you to all the brokers who came and visited us at our exhibition stand. Daniel Bullock of Bretnock Insurance Brokers won our stand prize of a digital camera for the longest jump on the Wii Ski Jumping challenge!

GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!
In October, Elders Agents travelled to Vietnam for the annual EIAA Business Forum.
In support of the Forum, Pacific sponsored city tours of Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, which provided a great introduction to Vietnam’s two most fascinating cities.
Elders delegates took part in a community project that Elders Ltd & EIAA have been running in rural Vietnam.
Delegates took one day out from sessions to work on the project. They installed new play equipment purchased for the school, presented new writing materials supplied by Elders and gave out toys to the local school children.

The LONG RIDE 2008
Graeme Skinner, Pacific’s GM Operations recently joined motor cycle riders from around Australia for the ‘Long Ride 2008’ to raise awareness and funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Australia.
The group set off from Mildura in Victoria, collecting donations along the way as they headed across the country to Perth. The total amount raised will be around $25,000!
Being a keen adventurer Graeme didn’t stop when the ride ended. He turned around the day after arriving in Perth and rode to Victor Harbour for the SA Harley Owners Group Rally. Part of the proceeds raised on the day went to support research into Muscular Dystrophy.
By the time Graeme had finished his travels he had covered an impressive 7840 kms, with total fuel costs coming in at $996.19!
A fantastic effort for two very worthy causes. The next Long Ride will travel to Darwin in 2010 (The first event destination was Darwin and in aid of the Royal Flying Doctor’s Service).
Graeme, with the support of GE Volunteers has now turned his focus to organising the 2nd E.J. Whitten Prostate Ride, to be held on Sunday 22 February 2009.
